Leadership
The family of Christians at Citrus Park are served by five elders (or pastors), six deacons, and (currently) four preachers.
There are five shepherds who guide the activities of the Citrus Park Church of Christ. Colly Caldwell and Matt Qualls were initially selected with two others by the congregation on February 11, 2007 according to the criteria outlined in the New Testament (1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1). On January 7, 2024, an addtional three elders were appointed to serve - Ray Madrigal, Michael Matthews and Derrick Shearer.
The six deacons serve the church in a variety of ways. They help organize and plan the curriculum for the Bible classes, maintain contact with evangelists that we support around the world, duplicate and distribute recordings of sermons and Bible classes, schedule men to participate in worship services, keep financial records of the church, and maintain the building and grounds, among other things. These servants of the church are George Hernandez, James Marocki, Ed McKinney, Jeff Nunley, Steve Roza and Rick Tolbert.
Four men share in the work of preaching and teaching the word at the Citrus Park church. These men are Colly Caldwell, Ray Madrigal, and Matt Qualls. In addition, Joshua Brown is helping in this work while he completes his degree this year at Florida College. He will continue with us until the end of the school year in early May, 2025.
Starting in February 2025, Jason Dickey will begin working with the congregation as well. Jason is fully employed in secular work but has also devoted his extra time to preaching and teaching with churches in Lutz and Lakeland. We look forward to having Jason, his wife Meghan and his three children worshipping with us.
